Guillermo Carpintero is Professor at the Electronics Technology Department of Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) and co-director of the Optoelectronics and Laser Technology Group (GOTL). In 2023 co-founded Leapwave Technologies, a spin-off company to exploit the results of the TERAmeasure H2020 Pathfider project. The company is oriented towards ultrabroadband RF interfaces for chips, enabling on-wafer testing, chip-to-chip and chip-to-package interfaces based on dielectric waveguide technology. Prof. Carpintero’s research outcome has been recognized with several research awards and distinctions, including PhD extraordinary award from UC3M in 2000, Heather Williamson Young Investigator Award from the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) in 2000, the UC3M Social Council Excellence Award in 2009 and Best European R&D Project in Cooperation Award from MadrI+D Foundation in 2011.
