The automated assembly equipment sector faces significant challenges, particularly with respect to the need of large players to install a significant production machine base for their new product introduction in a short amount of time. The focus of these machines is on reliable high production quality, the capability to operate 24/7 and a fast installation and ramp-up time. As long as standards like in the semiconductor industry are still missing, the differences in product design between different customers are preventing machine manufacturers from developing the next generation of assembly machines ahead of time. 

Based on the different transceiver module designs which we have seen over the last years we developed a limited set of modules and building blocks to address this challenge and support the photonics supply chain by reducing delivery times and hardware costs.
